Senior Leadership Team

Mr Lee Fabia, Principal

Mr Fabia provides the strategic and operational leadership of St Edward’s College, ensuring our vision, mission and Catholic values are at the heart of every aspect of school life. His leadership ensures that our community is rooted in faith, focused on excellence and driven by a commitment to nurturing the potential of every pupil.

He is committed to:

· Driving whole-school academic improvement, with a clear focus on outcomes, teaching quality, and progress for all pupils.

· Shaping the school's strategic development through the School Development Plan, Self Evaluation, and Catholic Self Evaluation processes.

· Creating a culture where staff are developed, supported and valued, with a focus on wellbeing, workload and professional growth.

· Leading the school’s Catholic life and mission, and strengthening our links with the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and local parishes.

· Representing St Edward’s within the Laetare Catholic Multi Academy Trust and the wider Edmund Rice Schools Network.

· Ensuring strong governance, effective resource management and robust systems for risk, inspection, and accountability.

· Leading communication with parents, governors and the wider community, ensuring that St Edward’s is known as a school of faith, care and academic excellence.

Mr Dominic Johnson, Vice Principal (Pastoral)

Mr Johnson deputises for the Principal and leads on all aspects of pastoral care, safeguarding, behaviour and personal development. He ensures that every child feels safe, supported and known as an individual and that St Edward’s College is a community built on mutual respect, high expectations and Catholic values.

He is committed to:

· Leading a culture of safeguarding where every member of the community understands their responsibility to keep children safe.

· Ensuring that our behaviour and pastoral systems are rooted in compassion, fairness and the belief that every pupil can succeed.

· Overseeing the development of pupils beyond the classroom through high-quality personal development, restorative practice and support for emotional wellbeing.

· Championing the voice of pupils and parents, using feedback to continuously improve the experiences of those we serve.

· Ensuring collective worship and our prayer life is meaningful, inclusive and rooted in Catholic tradition.

· Supporting staff wellbeing through regular communication, thoughtful leadership and structured pastoral systems.

Mrs Becky Jones, Vice Principal (Academic)

Mrs Jones deputises for the Principal and leads on curriculum, achievement and the quality of education. Her work ensures that every pupil at St Edward’s College receives a rich, ambitious and carefully sequenced curriculum that enables them to thrive and achieve outcomes that open doors for the future.

She is committed to:

· Raising academic standards through robust curriculum planning, data-driven decision-making, and a relentless focus on outcomes.

· Ensuring curriculum leaders are supported and challenged to deliver high-quality teaching through regular training, collaboration and review.

· Using internal and external assessment data to drive improvement in classroom practice, inform intervention strategies, and ensure progress for all learners.

· Leading a rigorous quality assurance cycle that includes lesson visits, work sampling, pupil voice and data analysis to improve teaching and learning.

· Embedding evidence-based teaching strategies rooted in cognitive science and promoting adaptive teaching that meets the diverse needs of all pupils.

· Supporting staff development through a strong appraisal process, comprehensive induction programmes and a commitment to professional growth.

· Leading the design and implementation of the options process and ensuring smooth transition between key stages.

Line management: Senior Assistant Principal – Adapted Learning and Inclusion/SENDCo, Assistant Principal – Developing Teaching, Curriculum Team Leaders for Science, RE, Mathematics and Geography, Exams and Data Manager.

Mrs Gill Orger, Senior Assistant Principal (Culture, Behaviour and Attendance)

Mrs Orger plays a pivotal role in shaping the culture of St Edward’s College by leading on behaviour, attendance and pupil wellbeing. Through her work with pastoral teams, external agencies and curriculum leads, she ensures that all pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

She is committed to:

· Promoting high expectations for behaviour, attendance and personal conduct across all year groups.

· Supporting our Heads of Year and Learning and Behaviour Mentors to provide effective, compassionate pastoral care for every pupil.

· Leading on key areas of personal development, including PHSE, mental health, transition, anti-bullying and equality and diversity.

· Strengthening relationships with external agencies such as CAMHS and YPAS to ensure early help and intervention for those who need it.

· Celebrating success through a meaningful rewards system and rich extra-curricular programme that fosters belonging and school pride.

· Overseeing key events such as Founders’ Evening, cathedral services and pastoral elements of trips and visits, helping to shape a vibrant and inclusive school community.

· Using data and pupil voice to inform action planning and ensure responsive, pupil-centred practice.

Mr George Ray, Senior Assistant Principal (Adapted Learning and Inclusion)

Mr Ray is dedicated to ensuring that every pupil, regardless of background or need, receives a high-quality, inclusive education. As our SENDCo and strategic lead for Disadvantaged Pupils, he drives the school's work on adapted learning and inclusion.

He is committed to:

· Leading on the strategic development and quality assurance of SEND and inclusion across the school, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the SEND Code of Practice.

· Embedding a culture where inclusive, adaptive teaching is at the heart of every classroom – because "what is good for SEND is good for all."

· Overseeing the SEND and Inclusion team, including LSAs, The Base provision, and EAL support, to ensure every learner receives targeted support tailored to their needs.

· Tracking the attainment and progress of SEND and disadvantaged pupils, ensuring interventions are effective and rooted in evidence.

· Strengthening the school's provision for disadvantaged and ‘double disadvantaged’ learners through the implementation and evaluation of the Pupil Premium strategy.

· Developing high standards for learning support through the creation of 'LSA Standards' and delivering regular CPD for teaching and support staff.

· Leading on key aspects of SEND transition, EHCP reviews, access arrangements for exams and engagement with external agencies such as Educational Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and EMTAS.

· Building strong partnerships with parents through regular communication, information evenings, and coffee mornings – ensuring they are active partners in their child's learning journey.

Ms Kerry Hughes, Assistant Principal (Developing Teaching)

Ms Hughes leads on the development of high-quality teaching and learning across the college, ensuring that classroom practice is consistently rooted in research and tailored to the needs of all learners.

She is committed to:

· Driving a culture of continuous professional learning, leading the staff CPD programme and coaching framework to support teachers at every stage of their career – from Early Career Teachers to experienced practitioners striving for excellence.

· Embedding evidence-informed pedagogy across departments through working parties, research groups, demonstration lessons, and subject-specific CPD.

· Leading on formative assessment, feedback, adaptive teaching, and the effective integration of educational technologies, including the use of AI to enhance learning.

· Overseeing the college’s work on literacy, numeracy, reading, writing and oracy across the curriculum – ensuring pupils develop the core skills they need to access the curriculum and succeed in life.

· Championing more able learners through targeted strategies and supporting staff in delivering stretch and challenge across all key stages.

· Strengthening links with primary schools – particularly Runnymede St Edward’s – to support curriculum transition, leadership development and community engagement.

· Leading on the Life Skills curriculum at Key Stage 4, ensuring pupils are equipped with the knowledge and values needed for life beyond school.

· Overseeing homework strategy and the use of digital platforms such as Seneca, Dr Frost, and Bedrock.

· Coordinating the induction and transition of Year 6 pupils, including the delivery of Summer School.

Mr Damian Murphy, Assistant Principal (Standards and Operations)

Mr Murphy oversees the smooth running of the college’s operational systems, ensuring that standards, reporting and logistics support the wider goals of teaching and learning.

He is committed to:

· Planning and quality assuring the school timetable, duty rotas, and staff cover to ensure efficient day-to-day organisation.

· Managing data systems and producing accurate reports for senior leaders, governors, and parents to inform decision-making.

· Overseeing the reporting process to parents and pupils, ensuring that feedback is timely, meaningful, and supports teaching, informs curriculum planning, and guides pupils and parents in taking the next steps regarding both academic progress and attitude to learning.

· Coordinating key school events including parents’ evenings, open evenings, exam results days, and census exercises.

· Leading the behaviour curriculum, form standards, pupil movement, and uniform policies to maintain a positive and disciplined environment.

· Developing pupil leadership through the college prefect system, school council, and form captains.

· Overseeing health and safety procedures, including fire alarm and lockdown drills.
