Photos from St Edward's College, Liverpool (Official)'s post 🧵 Last Thursday, Mrs Cave and Mr Lamin took pupils studying Art and Design Technology GCSE to Hope University's Creative Campus.
We paid a visit to the Contemporary Craft BA hons course and were welcomed by lecturers Dino and Paula who gave us a tour of the facilities and we enjoyed a practical workshop printing bags with disperse dyes and heat presses.
The new BA Contemporary Craft is an exciting interdisciplinary Major which focuses on hands-on, experimental designing and making. Students create craft works using the specialist facilities (metal, ceramics, textile and digital).
Staff and pupils were able to see current design students working on their final collections and see industry standard equipment , all relevant to their current studies.
It was a really interesting and enjoyable morning and we appreciated being made so welcome by the University. 29 Likes

Photos from St Edward's College, Liverpool (Official)'s post 🇪🇸 Our brilliant Year 10 linguists thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Runnymede, as did the pupils in Year 3 to Year 6 who were in their lessons. Our fantastic pupils delivered French and Spanish lessons, including games like Bingo, Hangman, Tap the Board. It was great to see the younger pupils engaged and enthusiastic about learning languages. Well done, Year 10! Allez! ¡Vámanos! 23 Likes

🗣️ The Debating team attended the Oxford Schools Debating Competition this week, the team consists of Sixth Form students, Mark G (Year 13), Polly P, Caitlin M, Patrick B, Abigail H, Samuel R, Anna R and Emily T (Year 12) accompanied by Mr Moroney and Mr Murphy.
They had to contend with subjects ranging from organising education in schools to building on green belt land and had to wrangle with some fierce oppositions.
Although the team didn't manage to break out into the finals, they have gained some valuable experience and have found a real determination to hone their craft for next year!

Photos from St Edward's College, Liverpool (Official)'s post 🌎 On Monday, Edmund Rice network visited the College to do some formation work with Year 7 and to learn more about who Edmund Rice was.
Year 7 pupil, Katie K reflects on the event:
“Wow, I just went to an Edmund rice (born Éamonn Ris) assembly. We all lined up into the collage hall and sat down.
We learnt all about his life and how he has now, over a hundred years later, managed to help people all over the world. He has inspired an entire organisation.
We said a special prayer which was on a prayer card we could take home, we have special badges of their logo and watched a video from lots of other Edmund Rice schools in other countries.
I thoroughly enjoyed learning about Blessed Edmund Rice and it was an inspiring day. I think it is amazing that the school does things like that and hope to have another soon. We all learnt something valuable that day and will remember it forever.” 17 Likes
