Photos from St Edward's College's post ✨ Our annual House Choir Competition took place last night, bringing together over 200 pupils in a fantastic celebration of talent, teamwork and Edwardian spirit.
What made the evening even more special was that the preparation and direction were led by our Sixth Form students!
Our sincere thanks go to our judges, Sandra Parr, Jonathan Deakin, Fiona McCann and Danny Townley, for generously giving their time and expertise. We were also treated to stunning solo performances that truly captivated the audience.
A special thank you to Mr O’Keeffe, Dr Howard, Mr Colfar and the tech team for organising and making the evening run so smoothly.
Congratulations to all who took part! 🥉Mersey finished in third place, 🥈Clare in second and 🏆Sefton claimed first place, retaining the title for the second year in a row. A tremendous achievement and a night to be proud of for every House involved. 36 Likes

🎼 We are pleased to announce that Old Edwardian and former Head Chorister, Joe Murphy, has received scholarship offers for postgraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
He has taken up the offer at the Royal Academy of Music.
Joe recently sang as the bass soloist in the Two Cathedrals Messiah concert along with other OEs. In the spring, he is travelling to South Korea and Hong Kong with John Eliot Gardiner to sing Bach B minor, Mozart C minor and the solos in Mozart Requiem. In April–July he will be singing with Garsington Opera as one of their young artists in La Traviata, Der Rosenkavalier and covering in Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria.

🎶 A huge well done to our choristers, who worked incredibly hard during a recent BBC recording, which was broadcasted on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday 22 February.
The programme’s producer was full of praise for their performance and the entire recording was completed in just one take.

Photos from St Edward's College's post ✝️ On Monday 19 January 2026, Churches Together in the Merseyside Region organised a special event to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Representatives from ten different Christian denominations gathered for a day of reflection, discussion and shared worship, celebrating the unity that binds Christians together.
We were proud to be represented by our three Sixth Form students, Mayan K, Dominic Mc and Trinita O, as well as our Lay Chaplain, Mr Richardson and Priest Chaplain, Rev. Dr Taras Khomych, who gave a talk entitled "'One Body and One Spirit (Eph 4:4)': Spirituality of Time in Byzantine Christianity." For the students, this was their first experience of an ecumenical gathering of this kind — and it proved to be both inspiring and memorable.
The day focused on themes of interculturalism and unity, encouraging participants to reflect on how faith is lived and expressed across different Christian traditions.
Mayan K reflected:
“This was my first time attending a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, and I found it to be very insightful. It made me appreciate how different Christian traditions can strengthen our shared faith. I was especially fascinated with learning about the Greek ideas of kairos and chronos, how measured time can become something sacred, which gave me a new perspective on prayer."
Trinita O also shared:
“This was my first experience of an event like this and I really appreciated the theme of spirituality and time, particularly the use of iconography. I found it especially meaningful to share thoughts and ideas within our table groups. I also enjoyed the opening activity where we connected with others through shared characteristics, as it created a welcoming and reflective atmosphere.” 26 Likes
