Photos from St Edward's College, Liverpool (Official)'s post👨⚕️ OE Owen Sweeney and alumnus of Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, and practising doctor in Warrington A&E (currently) came into College to talk to our budding medics in Year 12 and those facing interviews for Medicine in Year 13. Owen gave great insight into the application process for Medicine, course specifics and opportunities to steer your career in Medicine, narrating his journey from SEC pupil and Sixth Form student through to studying at Oxford (where he still lectures), his placement at Stanford and his masters in data analytics at Liverpool before answering specific questions about interviews and personal statements that students might have. It was great to welcome him back. (Miss Digney told us “he will always be my Emperor in the Year 7 Drama Festival back in 2009 - sorry, Owen!”) We thank him for taking time out of his busy schedule to help the next generation of medics make decisions about their future. 47 Likes

👟 On 29 December, Max M in Year 8 competed in the North West Schools Biathlon Qualifiers representing the College. He finished third overall, and the points he scored mean he automatically qualifies for the National Schools Finals in March, held in Bath! Congratulations Max and we wish you all the best in training leading up to the finals. 42 Likes
👨🔬 This week, Sixth Form students were presented one gold and three silver certificates in the highly competitive British Physics Olympiad examination, which is renowned for its rigorous challenges and is only undertaken by the most outstanding students in schools across the country.
