Fashion & Textiles

Studying Fashion & Textiles offers a unique opportunity to explore your creativity while developing the practical and theoretical skills needed for success in the dynamic world of design. This course encourages students to think critically and innovatively, investigating how historical, social, cultural, environmental and economic factors influence design.   • 50% Coursework (portfolio and product)
  • 50% Written Examination

What will i study?

Design and aesthetics, fabrics and pattern creation, fibre properties,  embellishment, garment production, ICT, market influences, sustainability and globalisation, design history.

Entry Requirements

Any Art & Design GCSE Grade 5 or a Technology GCSE Grade 4 including; Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphic Products, Textiles or equivalent.
