Netball
Girls take part in netball during the Advent and Lent terms. Commitment to this sport helps pupils and students to recognises the importance of fairness and honesty. Netball promotes teamwork, leadership skills, time management and effective communication.
The College runs teams for U12s (A and B), U13s, U14s, U15s and Seniors. Training for all teams takes place during lunch times and after school at either the indoor court or one of two floodlit outdoor courts. Training focuses on improving individual fitness levels and developing pupils' existing skills through various drills and practice matches.
Fixtures are played competitively against different schools in the Liverpool Netball league on a weekday evening. Teams also compete in friendly matches against other schools in the North West and in county and national tournaments.
Recently the Senior Netball team has taken part in the annual Senior Sports Tour visiting Belfast and Edinburgh alongside the hockey, rugby and basketball teams.
At the end of the season pupils and students attend an awards ceremony where awards are presented for most improved player, player of the season, and player’s player of the season. Pupils' participation in Netball is also recognised by commendations which are awarded for their achievements and contributions.
